The Finance Strategy and Transformation Managing Consultant will provide finance and accounting strategy as well as process and information content consulting services to Industrial clients; including companies in the automotive, aerospace/defense, electronics, and chemical/petroleum industries. In addition, they will focus on finance processes including management reporting and analytics, planning and forecasting, procure to pay, order to cash, general and project accounting.

A Managing Consultant also works with clients to improve their business in the following areas:

  • key transactional finance processes
  • management reporting and analytics
  • planning and forecasting
  • procure to pay
  • order to cash
  • general and project accounting

    Typical activities include:

  • defining finance strategy/vision for a Finance Operating Model including the optimization of *transactional processing shared service operations or outsourcing operations
  • benchmarking finance processes and identifying improvements and related benefits (i.e. business case)
  • developing finance transformation strategy, specifically analysis of “as-is” versus “leading practices”
  • identification of overall transformation plan
  • improving accounting close and consolidation processes including analysis of journal entries and plans for accelerated close
  • transforming financial reporting processes including the identification of key information requirements and associated reporting and analytics model
  • planning and forecasting optimization by leveraging leading practice techniques.

    It is also expected that new hires live within a reasonable commuting distance (generally 50 mi or less) of the following cities: Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Hartford, CT; Houston, TX; Kansas City, MO; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; Minneapolis, MN; New York City, NY and surrounding areas; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Tulsa, OK; and Washington, DC.

 

Desired Skills & Experience

Required

  • Associate’s Degree/College Diploma
  • At least 2 years experience in professional services consulting experience is preferred. public accounting experience and/or CPA is preferred
  • At least 3 years experience in finance experience in industry (transactional and reporting and analysis experience) or at least 2-4 projects with relevant experience in public accounting or consulting.
  • At least 2 years experience in electronics, aerospace and defense, automotive, or chemicals and petroleum industries
  • At least 2 years experience in financial transformation projects
  • At least 2 years experience in providing proposal support for financial management consulting projects
  • At least 2 years experience in major ERP vendors (SAP, Oracle) in a project environment and reporting planning tools ( Hyperion, Cognos)
  • At least 2 years experience in reporting and planning tools
  • Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
  • English: Basic knowledge

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • At least 5 years experience in professional services consulting experience is preferred. public accounting experience and/or CPA is preferred
  • At least 5 years experience in finance experience in industry (transactional and reporting and analysis experience) or at least 2-4 projects with relevant experience in public accounting or consulting.
  • At least 5 years experience in electronics, aerospace and defense, automotive, or chemicals and petroleum industries
  • At least 5 years experience in financial transformation projects
  • At least 5 years experience in providing proposal support for financial management consulting projects
  • At least 5 years experience in major ERP vendors (SAP, Oracle) in a project environment and reporting planning tools ( Hyperion, Cognos)
  • At least 5 years experience in reporting and planning tools
  • Licensed in CPA
  • English : Fluent
