Vice President, Operations

A division of a one-billion $ manufacturer of consumer products is looking for a Vice President, Operations at its plant in Northern New Jersey with the ability to help expand the business globally.
Salary to $125k/yr. plus 20% bonus potential.
The Vice President of Operations is the company’s key executive responsible for achieving ambitious goals towards excellence in manufacturing, sourcing and quality assurance processes.
This is a great opportunity in a visionary and ambitious manufacturing company, poised for significant growth. Along with the President, and as part of the Leadership Group, the VP of Operations will play a key role in transforming the organization into a modern, lean-manufacturing enterprise. The VP of Operations will spearhead the strategic development of the company’s operations, but also be involved in the day-to-day tasks.
The VP of Operations will lead all of the company’s operating functions, including Production, Quality Assurance, Warehousing, Sourcing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, and Plant Management.
The successful candidate will have:
- 10+ years of leadership experience in directing the operations of companies $75-$150 million in size,
- Experience in creating and implementing Lean manufacturing processes as well as in driving the associated organizational development
- Extensive experience in managing manufacturing operations that include semi-automated assembly of plastic and electrical products,
- The ability to gain the trust and support from an established workforce with many long-term, valued employees
- A background in manufacturing small lot sizes while achieving the highest possible productivity levels; prior experience with implementing/setting up offshore manufacturing opns.
The successful candidate will be an energetic and creative leader who can rally a workforce around the unifying vision of achieving greater productivities through better processes, w/10 years of executive operations management experience with proven track record of results; at least 5 of these years will have been in Director or VP leadership roles and will have included responsibility for strategic planning, total quality manufacturing, continuous improvement, Lean, materials management from planning through purchasing. Must be comfortable within a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
