Manufacturing Process Engineer

This growing biomedical instrument company is growing and their expansion has created a new position for a manufacturing process engineer. The initial focus will be to stabilize and improve manufacturing process.

Responsibilities include:

 

•         Observe the existing people, process and equipment and collect data to characterize process capability

•         Stabilize processes by training production personnel, maintaining equipment collecting, interpreting and displaying data

•         Design and develop QC protocols, test procedures, fixturing, and documentation to ensure manufacturing process accuracy

•         Work with the design team on NPI process

•         Implement process improvements to achieve cost reductions

•         Troubleshoot production equipment and coordinate repairs with outside vendors

•         Detect all non-conforming materials and take corrective action

 

Requirements:

•            Chemical or mechanical eng Degree or equivalent

•            5 years experience in process improvement/optimization as the manufacturing engineer in a manufacturing facility

•            desire to be on the manufacturing floor working with the people

•            strong background in collecting and interpreting data and then taking appropriate corrective action

•            proven expertise stabilizing processes

•            Background in DMAIC; Knowledge of tools such as SPC, FMEA and DOE to improve process stability

•            Demonstrated process development and documentation of manufacturing

•            Desired industry background can vary; the bottom line is this client needs a manufacturing engineer that a understands manufacturing process where complex equipment processes materials that come in one state and comes out in another state.

 

Location: Chicopee/ Springfield MA   Relocation available

Compensation:  75-90K depending on relevant product, process and industry experience

Job Description:

This electrical project engineer will specify, design, implement, debug and document electrical controls and instrumentation for new and existing PLC based, high speed, high volume, multiple small part assembly, process and packaging equipment, in compliance with company, national, and international standards.

Will support manufacturing by assisting with difficult troubleshooting problems on electrical control systems.

Must be experienced in applying technologies that include power distribution, motion control, robotics, industrial application of various sensors, machine vision, high-speed data acquisition, MMI, manufacturing information systems, software and hardware development across various platforms (PLCs, PCc, etc.)  Must be knowledgeable of Allen Bradley and Siemens 7 Systems.

Job Requirements:

-BSEE
-5-10 year’s experience in the application of PLCs and PCs for control, instrumentation and data acquisition in a manufacturing environment.
-Experience with Windows Office, PLC Ladder Logic, Visual Basic, C++, Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley PLC knowledge strongly desired.
-Proficient at writing and interpreting technical specifications.
-Experienced in project planning and tracking.
-Excellent interpersonal skills.
